According to recent statistics Birmingham is one of the UK’s worst homelessness zones. 1 in 119 people in our city is without a home.
New official estimates showed there were 4,677 people sleeping rough in England in autumn 2018.
Mr Byrne, MP for Hodge Hill, said more than 1,200 homeless people had died in the past five years and the “scale of homelessness” was a “moral emergency”.
There are hundreds of people in Birmingham who aren’t as lucky as you and I to have a home to go tonight. Instead they will be in hostels, squatting or on the streets. We need to change this.
Our Local Soup Kitchen is setup in a community centre based in Smethwick, Birmingham.

With sky-high rents, cuts in welfare and people struggling to pay bills (and in many cases ending up on the street), Creating Dreams Foundation is working hard on Moura’s Soup Kitchen, an outreach project to provide some of the most vulnerable in our locality with food, drink and friendship.
