Lack of access to water is often a major issue for the rural poor and urban slum dwellers who often have to resort to using unprotected surface water for drinking and cooking.
Help Creating Dreams Foundation build water wells so you can give families and the most vulnerable access to safe, clean water.
Your help will mean young children and women don’t have to spend hours fetching water each day, freeing up valuable time to go to school, work or look after their families.
It will mean young children will be able to learn and play and do all the things young children should do.
Clean water to anyone anywhere in the world make such a big difference, but even more so in places like Bangladesh.
The gift of water can often bring communities back to life through the ultimate Sadaqah Jariyah chain reaction. Clean water leads to healthy livestock, healthy people, more children in school, more women in jobs, improved agriculture and sustainable livelihoods. By building a well in a deprived community, you will get the reward for every single one of these things, In sha’ Allah.
Please note the character count for the messages on the plaques are 80 characters without spaces.
Please note we cannot exceed 80 characters under any circumstances due to limited plaque space.
Please note we cannot accept any arabic / quranic verses to prevent desecration.
A well can take 3 to 6 months to complete. Due to various factors, construction can only take place during certain times of the year.
We carry out site inspections on all location to check for contamination which includes heavy metal, Pesticide, insecticide & hard water.
We install ‘tube wells’ with a hand pump. These tube wells are preferred by communities as the installation means a thinner hole can be drilled or dug in a small area – providing a quicker solution for a village. Tube wells make it easier to reach water that’s deeper underground and the hand pump means it’s easier to lift the water through the tube.
Each country has its own costs for materials and labour work to build the well. In addition, some areas are more difficult to access, dig and procure a water source. At present, due to feasibility, CDF are only installing wells in Bangladesh with a view to expanding our water well projects in to other countries.
We do not issue individual progress reports. However, specific inquiries are welcome. We ask that donors allow 3-6 months for completion. You will receive a photo of the well and a certificate of completion via email.
Our field officer carefully select areas most in need of our well donations. A geological survey is commissioned to ensure there is an adequate water source below the ground. Some donors request specific areas and although we will try our utmost best accommodate for these preferences, the objective of this project is to prioritise remote villages that are most in need.
Yes. Donors often donate wells as Sadaqa Jariya, for themselves and on behalf of others – including deceased loved ones.
Some wells last longer than their estimated life time, depending on the hydro-geology of the area, as long as they are adequately maintained. However, once we are informed that a well has dried up, we will aim to implement another well nearby.
Some donors give smaller partial donations towards a well, which go into a fund. If several donors donate, we will allocate wells at our discretion. However, we do not include a name plaque for these wells, as several donors have donated towards the one well.
The plaque is a beautiful way of conveying your message for the well you have built. It will be there for everyone to see whenever they use the well to draw fresh, clean and potentially life-saving water. The plaque must be 80 characters or less and you could put the well in your name or the name of a loved one, or even in the memory of a loved one as part of their legacy. If you are building a well on behalf of your business you could put the name of your organisation on the plaque.
